Best way to Take Generic Ecotrin!

Appropriate dosage of Generic Ecotrin/ Apririn in case of Arthritis/rheumatic disorders:

Adult Dosage:
For treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis, arthritis and pleurisy of SLE: The prescription schedule includes administering 3g daily in divided doses in the beginning; for achieving target plasma salicylate level 150–300mcg/mL. The dose can be altered based on condition of the patient and assessment by physician.
For treatment of Osteoarthritis: The prescription schedule includes administering up to 3g/day in divided doses.
For treatment of Spondyloarthropathies: The prescription schedule includes administering up to 4g/day in divided doses.

Children Dosage:
JRA(Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis): The prescription schedule includes administering initially 90–130mg/kg per day in divided doses; for achieving target plasma salicylate level 150–300mcg/mL.Dose can be adjusted based on health of the patient.

Appropriate dosage of Generic Ecotrin/ Apririn in case of Thromboembolic disorders:

Adults Dosage:
Ischemic stroke and TIA(Transient Ischemic Attack): 50–325mg once daily. A TIA is a temporary condition that is similar to a stroke.
Suspected acute MI: 160–162.5mg once daily (start as soon as MI(myocardial infarction) suspected) then for at least 30 days post-MI. Myocardial Infraction is a condition where one of the arteries carrying blood to heart gets blocked.
Prevention of recurrent MI, unstable angina pectoris, chronic stable angina: 75–325mg once daily.
Coronary artery bypass graft: 325mg once daily (start 6 hours after procedure) for 1yr.
Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty: 325mg 2hrs before surgery, afterwards 160–325mg once daily.
Carotid endarterectomy: 80mg once daily to 650mg twice daily (start this medication before surgery).

Children Dosage:

Not recommended for use in Children.
